• An immediate $400 billion increase in the debt ceiling by Tuesday.
• Another $500 billion increase in the ceiling by September, subject to a "resolution of disapproval" that can (and will) be vetoed by the president.

Under Article I, Section 8 of the US Constitution, only Congress shall have power to "borrow money on the credit of the United States."  Congress, upon Senate approval in a few hours, will limit its ability to control the purse.  THIS IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL.  Yes, your Congress has gotten in the habit of being an adversary to the document that they take oath of protecting.  Throwing bondholders under the bus at General Motors.  Passing legislation that requires individuals to actually buy insurance policies.  The habit now includes passing legislation that gives its powers over to another distinct governing agent.  We are moments away from leaving the glory of a Representative Republic and trailing upon the sands of a Socialist Democracy.  Obama is correct.  He has literally transformed America.

The leaders that support this legislation have failed us.  Cowering under the weight of fear, they have chosen a path of least resistance.  Least resistance to standing for the Constitution and its powers.  Least resistance in managing the financial welfare of the citizens of this nation.  No one should tell you that for the good we gave up what we were required to do.  James Madison wrote, "One of the principal objections inculcated by the more respectable adversaries to the Constitution, is its supposed violation of the political maxim, that the legislative, executive, and judiciary departments ought to be separate and distinct. In the structure of the federal government, no regard, it is said, seems to have been paid to this essential precaution in favor of liberty."  For an election, many have chosen tyranny rather than liberty.  They have passed this off as the only choice available.  Congressmen limited by the fearful financial decisions of a greedy Legislature before it made a decision that kicked our economic futures down the road.  While the Media will have you deciding the winners and losers, there is clearly one major winner and one major loser.  The despot that seeks to radically change America has silently received the blessing of Congress.  Sal Alinsky wrote, "A Marxist begins with his prime truth that all evils are caused by the exploitation of the proletariat by the capitalists. From this he logically proceeds to the revolution to end capitalism, then into the third stage of reorganization into a new social order of the dictatorship of the proletariat, and finally the last stage -- the political paradise of communism."  The citizen that seeks liberty in the objection of a separated power is the clear loser.  James Madison writes, "No political truth is certainly of greater intrinsic value, or is stamped with the authority of more enlightened patrons of liberty, than that on which the objection is founded. The accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands, whether of one, a few, or many, and whether hereditary, selfappointed, or elective, may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny."  This is the day that President Ronald Reagan spoke of and we should be in mourning.  Plainly stated, the Gipper advised that "Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free."  The grief begins with knowing that statesmen do not exist in the Houses of Our Founding Fathers.  Only men posturing for soundbites and Committee Chairs reside in their Sovereign halls.

It is time to send to Congress persons that will answer the phone at 3 AM to protect your liberty.  What is your will?  Is it your last? Or is it that you will put in office those that will choose liberty and freedom over a few bad days in the stock market?  How you answer will either bring us back from the abyss or take us down a road most traveled--the one of least resistance.
